A:

I'm asked that question all the time, along with "Are you sure you're a girl???" (That one always makes me laugh! Girls like football too!) I'm happy to introduce myself briefly!

How old is the photograph?

A:

Old. Very old. I left it there because I look nothing like that anymore! I do still have (and wear) the Seahawks jammies.

Where in the Seattle area do you live?

A:

Oops! Sorry to disappoint you but I've lived smack dab in the middle of Kansas all my life! I've been to Seattle a few times and I've definitely left a piece of my heart there! Does that count?? :-)

Ever heard of Steve Largent? Dave Krieg? Say no more!!

How long have you been a Seahawks Fan?

A:

Oh. You want the whole story?!? Alright!

I used to HATE football. It was too noisy, the games lasted too long, it seemed as though football season lasted all year and what WAS the big deal about, anyway?!

One Sunday morning I woke up and decided to actually sit down and watch a game to see what the ruckus was all about! I was hooked from that moment on! (Subliminal messages???!! How else can you explain it?!)

Now I LOVE football! (1) The noise...bring on the decibel meter!! And yes, I have the 'Stadium Sounds' CD!! (2) Football season flies by in no time at all and I can't believe how many days they make us wait between games!!!! NEVER enough NFL football!!! (3) Let me tell you about the NFL! There's NOTHING like it! College football...? No comparison! The athleticism required to play in the NFL is incredible!

I do profess a love for Australian Football (AFL, aka Aussie Rules) as well. It's a great sport to follow fanatically during the NFL off-season! And in case you wondered, no, I don't like baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, golf or cricket!!!

So how did you become a Seattle Seahawks fan?

A:

As I started to watch more games, I chose my favored teams by extremely shallow methods...their uniforms, their location, perhaps a friend I knew from the area... (You've got to start somewhere, right??) But as I became familiar with teams and players, one team stood out among the rest....the Seattle Seahawks. And one player stood out among the rest....Steve Largent! Before I knew what happened, the Seahawks stole my heart and I became theirs for life!!

How long have you been a fan of the Seahawks?

A:

I really can't say for sure, but it must have been sometime around the late 70's, early 80's, when I declared them "my" team! Probably right around 1979...

So why do you have a web page for the Seahawks when you're not even from Seattle?

A:

I started this site many years ago because there were a LOT of Seahawk fans spread across the country and even into other countries who didn't have the opportunity to watch the games. Back in those days, ESPN didn't have much of an Internet presence! The site was built as a labor of love before all the big sites we know and love today existed. It opened a lot of doors to me, and I've met a lot of awesome people as a result of the site. I love hearing from other fans and opponents of the game too, so please feel free to drop me a line.

But WHO are you?!?

A:

Obviously my name is Becky! I'm a 30-something...er...um...40-something...oh, cripes! I was a 30-something when I started my site! Now I'm a 50-something! But just barely a 50-something! I'm the mother of two adult daughters and have a house ful of cats. I've had the same full-time office job for over 28 years though it's changed names 3 times! I love the Hawks, I love to travel and I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening and photography in my spare time. I collect football cards and weird Seahawk memorabilia and I love autographs. In the NFL off-season you'll find me glued to Australian Rules Football. Go the Tiges!

A:

"We" is us. You, me, fans, friends, anyone who wants to be part of the site. The site is ours. Fans helped me build it with ideas and encouragement. Many people have contributed to it. Thank you, and please keep your input coming!
